Retraction
Retraction is the withdrawal of a text (article) from publication. In other words, a notification that the publication contains serious flaws or erroneous data that cannot be trusted.
The review procedure is also carried out to prevent cases of duplicate publications (when authors submit the same articles or data (without appropriate links) in several publications), plagiarism, and conceal conflicts of interest that could affect the interpretation of data or recommendations on their use.
Data inaccuracy and duplication can be the result of both misconception, unintentional error, and deliberate violations.
Reasons for the review of the article:
detection of plagiarism in a publication;
duplication of an article in several editions;
detection of falsifications or fabrications (for example, falsification of experimental data) or serious errors in the interpretation of results;
the composition of the authors is not correct (there is no one who deserves to be an author; persons who do not meet the criteria of authorship are included);
hidden conflict of interest (and other violations of publication ethics);
republishing an article without the author's consent.
If the author/authors find it necessary to withdraw the article, they contact the editorial office, explaining the reason for their decision. The application for retraction, as well as the text of the article, must be sent in recognized form (and not pdf files).
If the editorial board decides to withdraw the text based on its expertise or information received by the editorial board, the author/authors of the article must be informed about this.
The decision to withdraw an article from publication is made by the Editorial Board of the journal, formalizing it with the appropriate protocol. The authors may disagree with the position of the Editorial Board, but this does not negate its right to conduct the procedure. This decision is reported:
– in the NEB (elibrary.ru ) (upon receipt of the request for retraction, information about the article and the full text remain on elibrary.ru , but supplemented with information about retraction. Withdrawn articles and links from them are excluded from the RSCI and do not participate in the calculation of indicators);
– Council on Ethics of Scientific Publications (for entering information into a single database of retracted articles);
– in some cases, information about the retrogression is brought to the HAC.
The results of the retraction are reflected in each of the versions of the journal (printed and electronic), indicating in the title of the publication that this article is being withdrawn, listing the reasons for the recall under the annotation, as well as indicating the persons or organizations that initiated it.
The retracted article cannot be deleted from the electronic version of the journal. It remains on the magazine's website as part of the corresponding issue. At the same time, the electronic version of the text is marked WITHDRAWN/RETRACTED and the date of retraction, the same mark is placed in the article in the table of contents of the issue.
The Editorial Board of the journal, along with making a decision to withdraw an article, may decide to impose a ban on accepting articles from the author/authors of the retracted article for publication for a certain period or indefinitely.
